Dehydration unit
Description.
The unit is designed for dewatering sludge formed during the wastewater treatment of electroplating plants.
The dewatering unit consists of a filter press and a pump mounted on a frame. A pressure switch and a pressure gauge are installed on the connecting pipelines. The unit includes a tray for collecting dewatered sludge.
Dewatering is performed by pumping the slurry under the pressure created by the pump through the filter baffles of the filter press.
The liquid phase (filtrate) passes through the filter baffles and exits through the filtrate outlet channel, and the filtered sludge fills the frame space.
When the pressure set on the switch is reached, the pump is automatically switched off. To discharge the sludge, the pressure is relieved by a valve on the manual pumping unit. After the hydraulic cylinder rod returns to its original position, the pressure plate is manually removed. When the plates and frames are moved alternately, the dewatered sludge is removed into the pallet.
